Elliot Lake council agrees to hire firm to fill CBO

The City of Elliot Lake has been looking for a new Chief Building Officer since last fall when Leo Chaloux resigned his post.

CAO Daniel Gagnon says in the interim Tulloch Engineering has and will continue to fill the gap in servicing.

At a special meeting yesterday, Gagnon asked council to consider hiring the firm of Feldman Daxon Inc. at a cost of $22,000 to find a successful candidate.

He says with the high demand to fill senior positions in Ontario municipalities, he feels the firm will be an asset in finding a successful candidate.

Council agreed and noted that the firm was successful in filling the treasurer vacancy last year.

Gagnon hopes to see the position filled as soon as possible.
