Reality television comes closer to home

If you had a chance to be on reality television, test your skills and win $1-million, would you go for it?
Kielyn Marrone of Espanola did, taking part in the History channel’s 7th season of ‘Alone’, an extreme
survival TV series, which premiered last night.
The only Canadian and one of only two women, she took on nine competitors but did it alone.
Marrone had to catch her own food, build a shelter, make fire and overcome the harsh terrain and the
intense cold of an Arctic winter for nearly 100 days.
She also documented her journey on camera and tested her skills as a wilderness operator.
She and her husband, Dave, operate Lure the North, booking winter wilderness expeditions, so the series was a step up in experiencing the great outdoors near Great Slave Lake.
The series runs every Thursday night at 7:00, but don’t ask her who won, that won’t be released
until the end of the series and the big reveal.
