Township of the North Shore residents voting electronically

Ratepayers in the Township of the North Shore will be going to the polls to fill two vacancies.
Former Mayor Randi Condie and Deputy Mayor Barb Barton resigned earlier this year, both
for personal reasons.
With the resignations, Melody Rose was appointed as acting mayor at their last virtual meeting.
Council has decided to host the by-election to fill the two vacancies by voting online.
At this time, council includes Rose from Serpent River, Brenda Green from Spragge and Gary Gamble
from Algoma Mills.
Nominations for the two vacant seats close on July 31st with the election slated for later in the summer.
Council is now working with an I.T. tech to have the voting system put in place electronically to enable
them to host the election.
