East Algoma OPP are out with the Prize Scam warning. Police say the scam is once again showing up in this area. Scammers pull their con by phoning you, sending a pop-up message on your computer, or they e-mail or text you. What they’re looking for is personal information like bank details or even some up-front money so you can collect your prize. Police say you can’t win a contest or lottery you never entered and add when you win for real, remember you don’t have to pay to collect.
