Black Lives Matter rallies

Black Lives Matter demonstrations continue in the North Shore today.
Black Lives Matter rallies were peaceful affairs with approximately 150 people taking in the rally and March in Espanola on Friday, and an estimated 100 taking part in a vehicular parade in Elliot Lake on Saturday.
Elliot Lake speaker 22-year-old Katia Ferderber asked local residents to also join her on her daily run on Tuesday at 11:00 am to show opposition to racism and honour George Floyd.
The date coincides with the day Floyd’s funeral will take place.
Four Minneapolis police officers face murder charges in connection with Floyd’s death.
From noon until 2:00 pm today there will be an ‘I Can’t Breathe’ demonstration in Massey, according to organizer Jayson Stewart.
Stewart says they stand in solidarity with friends of colour against racism in Canada and across the globe, stressing it will be a peaceful protest demonstrating unity and community.
The demonstration will be held in Massey’s downtown at the intersection of Highway 17 and Imperial Street.
