Integrity Commissioner finds breach by Elliot Lake Mayor

Elliot Lake Mayor Dan Marchisella has been found in breach of the Code of Conduct following a report by the city’s Integrity Commissioner.
Commissioner Cunningham Swan says they found Marchisella had disclosed confidential information at a public meeting on February 10th.
They decided to make their report public for two reasons; the admission of the breach by the mayor himself and the history of complaints the previous and present Integrity Commissioners have had to investigate.
The commissioner recommends the council issue a public reprimand of the Mayor for the breach and that he publicly apologize for it.
They also urge the council to find ways to get along stating the people of Elliot Lake deserve better and expect better from their elected officials.
There have been dozens of complaints made to the various commissioners at a cost of more than $274,000 so far.
Council will discuss this latest finding at its meeting tonight with the webcast at 7:00 pm.
