Community Banner Project underway in Elliot Lake

If you have an artistic side, you can help celebrate the re-opening of Elliot Lake’s downtown.

The Arts and Culture Committee of Elliot Lake has chosen the theme “Our Town—Past, Present, or Future” for its Community Banner Project.

The banners will be displayed along Ontario Avenue and Highway 108 with up to 40 different designs selected.

They want to showcase Elliot Lake and area artists in marking the re-opening of the businesses in the core of the city.

The deadline for submissions is June 15, either digitally or as a hard copy on paper.

The guidelines are available on the city’s website.

Email submissions (images and entry form) should be sent to Linda Finn at [email protected] and hard copies with entry form may be dropped off at the Elliot Lake Nuclear Mining Museum in the Hillside Plaza. (Knock on the door and give to Darla Hennessey.)

The design theme should in some way reflect a time period from Elliot Lake’s history, present-day or even imagine what it may look like in the future. Artists may submit up to three designs eac
