Peaceful, but healthy demonstrations

Public Health Sudbury & Districts states it stands in support of racial equality, but is also suggesting
protocols to follow where peaceful protests are being held.
In a release, the health unit states it recognizes that people may be drawn out in peaceful
demonstration at this time and that this could put them at risk of exposure to COVID-19.
The agency encourages anyone exercising their rights to demonstrate peacefully and be COVID-19 aware.
The unit suggests social media and virtual protests remain the safest way to have your voice heard,
pointing out shouting can spread droplets, so consider using instruments to make noise.
However, if people chose to gather in person at any organized demonstrations, try to keep to groups of
five or less, wash your hands, bring hand sanitizer, wear masks and practice physical distancing of two
metres.
