MANITOULIN OPP INVESTIGATES SUDDEN DEATHS

The Manitoulin OPP is investigating two sudden deaths at a residence in Espanola.

Manitoulin OPP Constable Renee Lalonde says on Sunday around 5:00 pm, police went to a local residence to check on the well-being of two people.

She says the police entered the residence and found the two deceased.

Lalonde says public safety is not a concern at this time and more information will be released as it becomes available.

She says the ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Manitoulin OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit.

Lalonde adds police is asking for anyone with information to contact the Espanola OPP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
