East Algoma OPP now know the source for explosives found on a vacant lot in Spragge on Good Friday. They once belonged to a mining prospector who passed away about six years ago. At the time of death the man’s family removed his belongings, but missed the explosives. The new owner of the lot found them buried while excavating his land. The explosives were in large boxes and containers. The OPP got rid of the explosives, which were about 20 years old, on Saturday.   Some nearby homeowners were removed from their homes as a precaution during the disposal operation.
