Health care professionals in Espanola, including RNs, are going to mediation this Thursday in an effort to avoid a strike. The workers, which also include nurse practitioners, are employed by the Espanola and Area Family Health Team. The current deal expired last December. The union says some of the 14 workers haven’t had a pay raise since 2007. Fourteen health care workers make up the Espanola and Area Family Health Team and on average they see 340 patients a week.
