Illegal dumping and abuse led to the Town of Espanola closing down the yard waste depot a couple of weeks ago but has now been reopened.
Public Works Manager Joel Yusko says the town realizes the service is needed so the site has been reopened on a trial basis.
He says dumping prohibited materials such as construction waste and garbage is not permitted.
Only yard waste and small branches are allowed, he emphasizes and COVID-19 protocols have to be followed.

Yusko adds those protocols including only five visitors at a time, maintaining physical distancing and following any directives posted at the site.
He says the site will be monitored to ensure the rules are being followed.
