It won’t be long before the ice is off area lakes and the water is warm enough for boating. And with that comes a reminder that you need a license to operate a power boat. A series of boat license tests are being held across the north this month and in this area, Espanola is on the stop-over list. The exam to get a pleasure craft operator card takes place April 29th at Legion branch 39. The cost is $60 and the card is good for life. Anyone 12 and over needs an operator card to drive a power boat. Other centres holding the operator card exams include Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Timmins.
