A federal New Democrat is rallying to stave off CBC cuts in Northern Ontario. Claude Gravelle of Nickel Belt is critical of the Harper government’s decision to eliminate 244 CBC jobs. He says that’s 25 percent of the public broadcaster’s workforce spread across Northern Ontario. Gravelle says the cuts are devastating and will reduce radio and TV services in the north. He says instead of cutting, the feds should be reinvesting in the CBC.
