Several leaders from Northern Ontario are in Toronto this Thursday trying to sell the benefits of investing in the north. Mining, forestry and farming are represented at the event which focuses on northern opportunities but also the hurdles impeding those opportunities. The Empire Club of Canada, which is a well-respected speaker’s forum, is hosting the event. The event is billed as the State of the North Summit and it’s the first time it’s being tried. The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities is also at the event.
