Connecting seniors in long-term residences with their loved ones is a little easier today, thanks to the generosity of an Elliot Lake businessman.
Alpine Flowers & Gifts owner Luc Morrissette says he wanted to do something special for the 225 plus residents in Elliot Lake’s three long-term residences.
He says originally, he had run a campaign to have tulips delivered for Easter, but the Algoma Health Unit said it could not be done because of COVID-19 protocols.
Morrissette says he was able to do more fundraising and instead distributed 100 tablets to the three residences on Friday.
He says seniors at St. Joseph’s Manor, Huron Lodge and the Hillside Park Retirement Residence will now be able to connect with family and friends.
