Municipal and public access boat launches closed

If fishing is your favourite thing, you might find it difficult to get out on the water.
In order to protect residents and slow the potential spread of COVID-19, the City of Greater Sudbury, as well as boat launches in the Espanola and North Shore area have been temporarily closed.
On March 30th, the province of Ontario issued an emergency order to close all outdoor recreational amenities, and that includes boat launches and private marinas.
Espanola Game and Fish Club president Leland Morley says it does not sit well with everyone, but all the local launches have been closed.
Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger says the decision was made following the advice of Public Health Sudbury & Districts.
The only exceptions are for those who need to attend their water-access only properties or launches located on Crown Lands.
Also note, at the time of this release, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests has not made any decisions to restrict, delay or cancel provincial fishing and hunting seasons or restrict access to Crown land.
However, some municipalities and Conservation Authorities have already restricted access to their lands, and many retailers that usually offer fishing and hunting licences are no longer open to the public.
