First Nations object to Noront deal to buy Cliffs' assets at Ring of Fire

The deal for Noront to acquire the assets of Cliffs at the Ring of Fire might not be smooth sailing.  There’s word that the eight First Nations close to the chromite discovery are opposing the deal.  The Matawa Chiefs Council says they should have been consulted over the sale.  The deal needs court approval which could come next month but the chiefs hope to stall the final sale.  Noront Resources says it’s the company’s intention to keep talking to the First Nations on how to move the mining project forward.
