The North Shore Health Network has reopened the Thessalon Site Emergency Department.
Network Safety Coordinator Melanie Kubatlija says the site was reopened yesterday afternoon.
She says the site was closed as a temporary precaution in support of patient and worker safety as healthcare workers at the site were tested for COVID-19 symptoms.
She says the tests show negative results for all.

However, Kubatlija adds in-patient beds at the Thessalon site will remain empty and in-patient services will continue to be redirected to Blind River at the current time.
She says the public should only visit the Emergency Department at this time if in need of urgent care.
