Checking out a garbage can netted Greater Sudbury Police over $25,000 in illegal drugs.
Police Constable Kathryn Dunn says officers were called out to a disturbance Sunday night, which the caller said involved a taser.
When police arrived, two men fled the scene, she says, and an officer saw one of them throw something in a garbage can.
Dunn says after the two men were stopped, the can was checked out and a taser, 2,800 Xanax pills, almost 110 grams of crystal meth and an electric scale was found.
She says the street value of the drugs is approximately $25,000.
A 19-year-old man is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one count each of possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon.
The second man was released.
