Two conservation authorities are issuing flood alerts with the Spring melt underway.
In the release, the Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie authorities’ state faster-flowing water and higher levels are expected in all major waterways, including the Mississagi, Spanish, Vermillion and Wanapitei Rivers.
The authorities are also warning families, and especially parents, to pay attention to changing conditions, more so if they have children at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It can two to five weeks for the rivers to subside depending on the speed of the melt in the North.
