Staff from the Nuclear Waste Management Organization are in Elliot Lake and Spanish Monday and Tuesday of this week. They’re in both communities holding open houses on the next phase of the long term plan to dispose of nuclear waste. Elliot Lake and Blind River were picked to move on to Phase Two of the project. The open house in Elliot Lake is at the White Mountain building while the waterfront complex is the site for the open house in Spanish. In Blind River and the Township of the North Shore, similar sessions run Thursday and Friday. The community centre in Blind River hosts open houses there and for the Township of the North Shore, the site is the town hall. All the open houses run 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and staff will be on hand to answer your questions.
