Wawa getting wood pellet mill

A Northern Ontario fibre company is converting a couple of idle wood plants into wood pellets facilities.  One of the plants is in Wawa and the other is in Atikoan.  The conversions are getting help from FedNor which is paying $4 million towards the work.  Once complete, the plants will employ more than 60 people.  The Wawa plant will supply wood pellets to a company in the United Kingdom.  The Atikokan site will sell its wood pellets to Ontario Power Generation.
