Tentative deals reached with teachers groups

While the most focus has been on the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ontario government continues its negotiations with teachers’ unions.

Ontario’s Minister of Education, Stephen Lecce, says he is pleased a tentative agreement has been reached with other unions.

Tentative agreements have been reached with the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario, the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association, ETFO Education Workers and the Council of Trustees’ Associations.

He adds it is good news following the signing of a deal with the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association last week.

Lecce says they are focused on landing further deals with other unions.
