The Elliot Lake Family Health Team in partnership with the City of Elliot Lake is asking for vulnerable citizens to self-isolate immediately.
City CAO Daniel Gagnon says it light of the coronavirus impact on the older population that it is crucial that those 70 years of age and older, living with chronic disease or are immunocompromised to stay home.
He says the city and its partners are working on a program for home-bound people who require essentials including prescriptions, groceries and more.
He says the program details will be released in the immediate future.
