Elliot Lake city CAO Daniel Gagnon, who has been acting treasurer for just over a year says he is relieved to turn the duties over to Amy Sonnenburg.
He says Sonnenburg has filled a financial management role at the Manitoulin District Social Administration Board for over a decade and that experience should stand in good stead for the ratepayers of the city.
Sonnenburg is to begin work in late February.
The position was vacant since the fall of 2018.
