Structural engineering investigation into Millenium Centre

Sections of the Sagamok Anishnawbek Millenium Centre will remain closed.

Infrastructure Director Ross Assinewe says anĀ investigation into a leaking roof at the centre in Sagamok-Anishnawbek First Nation was carried out on Friday following several leaks from the roof.

He says a more detailed investigation carried out yesterday morning has revealed a need for further action to ensure the safety of all users of the building.

Assinewe adds a structural engineering review will be carried out tomorrow and depending on the outcome, a decision will be made on whether to reopen the bingo hall and Sunrise Room where the leaks have occurred.

Events scheduled for those areas have been suspended, but other areas continue to provide their respective programming.
