The provincial NDP want charges laid against CN following Saturday’s derailment near Gogama. And Nickel Belt MPP France Gelinas also wants the owner of the oil the rail cars were hauling charged. Thirty-five cars caught fire and five others fell into the Mattagami River threatening the livelihood of a nearby First Nation and industries. Gelinas wants action to mitigate the impact the derailment will have on the region.
