Sudbury man faces several charges after hitting cruiser

East Algoma OPP has charged a Sudbury man with over a dozen charges following a high-speed chase.

OPP Constable Phil Young says officers were called out to investigate a disturbance to a local lodge north of Elliot Lake last Thursday.

He says while on their way to the lodge, they spotted the suspect vehicle and attempted to speak with the driver.

However, Young adds he collided with the cruiser and a high-speed chase ensued.

The man fled into the bush but was eventually captured.

Young says the 29-year-old from Sudbury is facing several charges including theft of a vehicle, fraud, flight from police, and two assault charges among others.
