The Espanola Elks, like other clubs, has to deal with repairs and retrofits, but the funding is not always easy to find.
However, Unifor Local 31-X has come through to assist them with a major retrofit.
The local, whose members work mostly out of the EACOM sawmill in Nairn Centre, has donated $10,000Â Â to the club to replace the HVAC system and do other repairs.
Unifor Local 31-X President, Kyle Lilley presented the cheque to Elks President, Nick Siren earlier this week.
The union has been a tenant at the Elks for many years and the donation is a way for them to pay the lodge back for their support.
