Sitting down and writing a letter may not be so much of a common practice these days, but for some Elliot Lake students, it’s a novel way to find out about the rest of the world.
A spokesperson for École catholique Georges Vanier School, Paul de la Riva says students in Grade five and six are now pen-pals with counterparts in Russia.
He says the students are very excited getting their first responses and the pen pal program will continue as part of the curriculum, not only helping them discover a new part of the world but also to promote writing.
