Watching movies while driving nets charges

The Manitoulin OPP has charged two drivers for watching a movie while driving.

Manitoulin OPP Detachment Commander Inspector Megan Cavanagh says driving distracted by using a hand-held communication device is an offence under the Highway Traffic Act.

She says distracted driving while watching a movie is completely senseless and puts every adult and child travelling on the highway at risk of serious injury or death.

Cavanagh strongly suggests suspend the movie before police suspend licences.
