Local area schools affected by strike

Today’s one day strike by teachers and education workers will affect several schools within the Algoma and Sudbury districts.

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation is leading the full withdrawal of services today.

All elementary and secondary schools of the Algoma School Board and Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon Board will be closed today.

Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board and Rainbow District School Board schools will remain open.

Day and childcare programs will be permitted to remain open, however check with your childcare operator directly.

At issue is a pay increase, e-learning for students and class sizes.
