Sudbury woman charged with forging documents for fentanyl

Following a two-year investigation by Greater Sudbury Police, a Sudbury woman employed at a pharmacy is facing several charges involving fentanyl.

Police communication coordinator, Kaitlyn Dunn says a female employee is alleged to have fabricated and forged over 225 non-existent prescriptions between May 2016 and May 2018 by entering falsified data in the pharmacy’s computer system and acquiring over 3,400 fentanyl patches with a street value of around $1.5-million. Dunn adds in addition to the forgeries, the woman is also alleged to have committed several counts of identity theft by using falsified prescriptions under the names of local doctors to various patients by using their personal information.

A 49-year-old Sudbury woman is charged with ten counts of impersonation, making forged documents, uttering forged documents, fraud over $5,000 and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

She is to appear in Sudbury court on January 8th.
