Elliot Lake recognized internationally

The City of Elliot Lake has long been community focused on meeting the needs of all ages, especially seniors.

To that end, Elliot Lake Mayor Dan Marchisella says he is thrilled the city has been recognized by the World Health Organization as an Age-Friendly Community.

He adds Elliot Lake is a safe welcoming community that recognizes the needs of all age groups and strives to ensure they meet those needs through recreation, leisure, health care, and services.

The WHO Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities was established to foster the exchange of experience and mutual learning between communities worldwide.

The official document will be put on display in the city hall.
