Integrity Commissioner sanctions – Patrie fights, Pearce apologizes

An Elliot Lake councillor has been hit in the wallet with several, but will not have to give up his seat on council as recommended by the Integrity Commissioner.

In its report, the IC law firm, E4m had recommended Councillor Chris Patrie be asked for his resignation and also be removed from all municipal boards, advisories committees and affiliated organizations.

However, councillors were opposed to doing just that stating it was not their place to do so.

However, they did approve Patrie losing a total of 240 days of remuneration for the other Breaches of Conduct.
