Two arrested after convenience store robbery

East Algoma OPP has arrested two people in relation to an Elliot Lake robbery.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when a convenience store on Hillside Drive North was robbed. The suspect entered the store with two knives and held an employee of the store at knifepoint before stealing cash from the register.

As a result of the police investigation, on Friday officers arrested two people at a Beckett Boulevard home. A 29-year-old man, with no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery With A Weapon
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (Four Counts)

The second person, a 27-year-old woman from Elliot Lake was arrested and charged with “Accessory After the Fact to Commit Indictable Offence.”

Both of the accused will appear at the Blind River courthouse.
