Espanola’s new Community Improvement Plan is now accepting applications for business improvement projects. Businesses that dot the Highway 6 corridor and downtown are eligible. The plan can also be used to encourage more affordable residential developments and senior housing. Mayor Mike Lehoux says the town has no development fees and it’s committed to growing the business base. The improvement program offers several incentives including grants, incremental tax increases and municipal fee reductions to encourage growth.
