A Northern Ontario New Democrat is critical of a joint government study to connect remote First Nations with year-round roads. Claude Gravelle, the MP for Nickel Belt, doesn’t like the $780,000 study because he says a similar one from 1999 already exists. Gravelle says we should use the previous results to build connecting roads and use the money allocated for a new study on infrastructure. Part of the current study could help improve eventual access to the Ring of Fire site at James Bay.
