There are a couple of new developments involving the Elliot Lake Centre for Development. The centre is now closed although it’s not a direct result of city council. Mayor Dan Marchisella assumes the centre closed acting on council’s old order from last week. However council did not plan to follow through on that order once the employees agreed not to sell the ELCD’s assets. The centre’s mandate was up at the end of this month. The other development is the centre’s chair, Tom Farquhar becoming the new CAO of White River as of march 9th. Farquhar says he’s not selling his home and plans on coming back to Elliot Lake in the future.
