Good turnout for Espanola’s dual festivals

If the numbers are anything to go by, the Eighth Annual Espanola Pumpkin and Fibre Arts Festivals have a captive audience.

Town EDO, Cheryl Kennelly, says the complex was busy with several dozen children taking in the various events at the Pumpkin Festival this year.

She says the EACOM craft booth had over 120 children alone.

Fibre Arts Festival coordinator, Jody Pilon, says there preliminary numbers show between 820 to 860 people taking in the various workshops and markets featuring a wide variety of fibre-related crafts and farmers’ products.

The final numbers will be tabulated and presented to the council later this month.
