By the end of this week an autism registry will be online in Espanola. Spokesman Dennis Lendrum has been working with local police on this program for the past year. Once operational, the registry will be linked to all police departments in Ontario. The program tells police if someone they’re looking for is autistic. Lendrum says nowadays autism isn’t about awareness anymore, it’s about acceptance.
