A big surprise from VISTA radio -school receives funding

It was their first assembly of the year and over 200 students and staff at an Espanola school were thrilled with good news from The Moose 99.3FM and its parent company, VISTA radio.

As part of issuing radio stations licences, the Canadian Radio-Televisions and Telecommunications Commission asks they, in turn, support Canadian content in both music and the spoken word.

As part of the program, on an annual basis, funds are donated to various organizations, such as schools to meet that obligation.

As part of the first assembly of the school year held at Sacred Heart Catholic School yesterday afternoon, The Moose presented a cheque for $1,800 to go towards the school’s music and band programs.

Music teacher, Jodi Bourcier, thanked The Moose and VISTA radio for providing the funding adding it will go towards the purchase of new equipment for the school’s jazz band and four rock bands.
