NOJHL commissioner suspends owner of Espanola Rivermen over comments

The owner of the Espanola Rivermen has been suspended indefinitely by the commissioner of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.  The Elliot Lake Bobcats are moving to Cochrane next year and Tim Clayden says there’ no way he’s taking his Rivermen that far north.  Clayden says it’s because the extra $50,000 expense to cover more travel, meals and accommodations is considerable and he can’t come up with the extra cash.  Clayden believes several other clubs will also have a hard time coming up with the extra cash to travel to Cochrane and still make money.The Rivermen are leaving the NOJHL and joining the Upper Peninsula League in Michigan next season.
