The mayor of Elliot Lake understands that not everyone likes council’s decision to take over the White Mountain building. And Dan Marchisella says council can’t reveal all the details about the ownership change at this time. As a result, he admits it creates a frustrating situation for the public and council because council is trying to be as open, transparent and accountable as possible. He adds it’s difficult for council to sit on secrets for the time being. Marchisella says the public has to have faith that council is doing the right thing and that the full story for the takeover will eventually come out. City Hall could become the full owner of White Mountain by March 2nd.
