Elliot Lake OPP have found human remains, but has released no information as to identification or sex.
OPP Constable Phil Young says the police found the remains on Sunday in a wooded area within the city limits.
He adds the area has been cordoned off while a complete forensic analysis takes place and police gather evidence.
Young says several branches of the OPP and the coroner’s office are continuing the investigation.
