The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities is upbeat about the recent mayors’ meeting with the northern development minister. The mayors of the north’s five largest cities and First Nations leaders met with Michael Gravelle to discuss the north’s Growth Plan. FONOM says the discussions were positive and there was co-operation. The meeting included First Nations leaders and FONOM says it will also keep working with Aboriginal communities to grow the relationship between it and them.
