A museum on Manitoulin Island, the Old Mill Heritage Centre, is marking a special day this month.
Curator Rick Nelson says the museum will celebrate its tenth anniversary this month as a vital part of tourism in the Kagawong – Billing Township area.
Nelson says not only will the day include celebrating that milestone, but there will also be two unique presentations.
The first is Shipwrecks of Georgian Bay by Cris Kohl and Joan Forsberg and the Wreck of the Griffon, the ship of Lasalle, the famous explorer.
The second is Harbour Island: History and Restoration with new owner Rob Chandler detailing his plans.
Nelson says they take place on Thursday, August 8th, 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm at the Park Centre.
The event is free … however, donations go towards various ongoing museum projects.
