Manitoulin OPP stress that driving a boat impaired is just as bad as driving a vehicle impaired.
OPP Constable Wendy Forcier says on Sunday shortly after six pm, the office received a call about a possible impaired sailboat operator in the North Channel.
She says the officers determined the operator had consumed alcohol.
As a result, she says a 44-year-old man from Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation has been charged with impaired and operating a vessel while impaired and also had his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days.
He is to appear in Gore Bay court September 26th.
