News Elliot Lake man tasered after causing disturbance SHARE ON: Rosalind Russell, staff Tuesday, Jul. 23rd, 2019 A taser had to be used by Elliot Lake OPP following a disturbance by a local man. OPP Constable Phil Young says police were called out Sunday morning around 5:00 am to a Baily Lane residence where a man had been yelling and carrying on for over two hours. He says the man appeared to be intoxicated and was asked to go back in his residence, but would not cooperate. Young says while trying to take him into custody, he resisted, so he was tasered to carry out the arrest. The 48-year-old has been charged with causing a disturbance and resisting arrest. He is to appear in Elliot Lake court on September 3rd.
